They look like garbage right now because I got lazy with the prep, so I'll be sanding most of this one back and respraying. Ended up with places the paint wouldnt lay due to moisture and some runs. The white looks pretty good though, much better than the crappy plastic caps.

may have an issue when they need to be balanced though...

Why's that?

gotta remove the weight, exposing an unpainted area

What Leon said but you can just paint them again after you get it balanced if that really bothers you or just touch it up if you have leftover paint. NBD

Na I'll just touch it up whenever I get new tyres. They'll screw up the paint fitting the new tyre and weight anyway, makes no difference.

You can mark the tire with chalk and remove the weight until you are done painting then reattach it.

You're using the top ones right? When they rip off the wheel weight you'll have non painted like Leon mentioned. Inner wheel sticky weights FTW - until they become unstuck and you wonder why you're car is vibrating at 60mph

They'll mess up the paint putting a new tyre on anyway, it'll be easier to respray them whenever I get new tyres/ balancing.

There's no point when you think about it, the paint would get screwed up with new tyres/ weights anyway. Will just touch it up in future.

They'll scuff paint off either way, even if you paint under the weight whenever it gets removed the paint would get messed up. Only £1 for a can of white to touch it up afterwards.

Makes sense. Or you could throw a fit when they scuff the paint and act like they just marred the chrome on some 24's

I think they'd just laugh it off if a guy in a 1.2 twingo started kicking off about his £4 wheel paint job.

I highly approve. I did the same for my civic, ditched the boring hubcaps and painted the steel wheels white.

It's definitely an improvement. I hate the look of most hub caps. Only cost me about a fiver too, the finish isn't great but from 5 feet it looks decent.

Only one is done, but still needs to dry. I'll post a pic once it's on there.

That's what I said.
